Another work I did for class, I made a book cover for The Beauty Myth, a third wave feminist text on how society oppresses women with the idea of unattainable beauty written by Naomi Wolf. Working with found images is of course never ideal, but I think it turned out relatively well. In its ideal state, the wording would be more clear on the back and the lipstick or lips would carry a more sinister undertone. However, I am very proud of the magazine ad I made to accompany it. The concept of physically dismantling this idea of beauty is very potent to me, while the next page kind of ties it back to its basis in academia.
